Your First Visit
During your first visit, we will assess the orthodontic condition of your teeth. We will also try to ascertain what it is about your teeth which motivated you to seek treatment for them, whether it is the alignment of the jaw, or the overcrowding of the teeth, or whatever else about them that has been brought to your attention. In doing so, we will be able to recommend treatment which will be best suited to what you want, so that your aim can be our aim also.
Directions are available here if you need some help with finding either one of our practices.
What to bring to the first appointment:
The referral from your dentist, if any
Any x-rays which may have been taken of you in the recent past
(Optional) A printed copy of the Confidential Patient Information form, filled out (available here)
Your co-operation is vital!
Orthodontic treatment requires that you have to maintain a regular and thorough cleaning routine, and also to avoid certain foods that might lead to damage of the appliance. At this point in time, we estimate that most of our patients generally complete their orthodontic treatment within 18 to 24 months. As you can see, this is quite a lengthy period of time. Your co-operation with some of those conditions when wearing braces is absolutely vital to ensuring successful treatment.
